All Poly Flex flexible drive couplings provide a damper between engine / gearbox to the driven / output shaft which in a marine application is usually the propeller shaft. It reduces shock in forward and reverse gear changes and reduces the noise and vibration of the output shaft.
Our couplings work in conjunction with our engine mounts by providing the softest element in the shaft assembly to improve performance. They act when overloaded by shearing at a designed point to protect the engine and gearbox from any damage. This is why these couplings have adopted the terminology of a 'Drive Saver' of the years.
