Custom CNC machining enables the creation of precise components that would be exceptionally challenging or excessively time-consuming to craft by hand. The practice of custom CNC machining can adopt various approaches tailored to the unique requirements of each customer, such as CNC milling or turning. The fabrication of custom CNC parts stands as an indispensable manufacturing procedure, guaranteeing the delivery of high-quality components in a streamlined and efficient manner.
Poly Flex is dedicated to providing an effective product for customers in search of customised CNC solutions to their challenges. Our primary emphasis is on ensuring that customers receive a product with an extended lifespan compared to the original or any OEM replacement part, all at a reasonable cost.
With our high-tech, state-of-the-art CNC machinery, we do a large range of custom work for other companies and customers. We specialise in all types of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, 4130N chromoly and plastics.
Some common items we produce, to name a few, are automotive components, mining industry, prototypes, marine industry, and heavy vehicle components.
Our Machines are set up to provide highly accurate and cost-effective means of machining to suit any quantity requirement for our customers.
Which CNC Machines Do Poly Flex Utilise?
CNC Mill:
CNC mills operate by executing programs that consist of alphanumeric instructions, directing workpieces through different distances. Typically, basic CNC mills are equipped with a three-axis system (X, Y, and Z), although many modern CNC mills can accommodate extra axes as well.
Poly Flex currently utilises a MicroCut M760 With A Forth Axis Vertical CNC Mill:
In lathe machinery, workpieces are circularly cut using tools that can be indexed. CNC technology ensures that these cuts are executed with remarkable precision and at high speeds. CNC lathes are instrumental in crafting intricate designs and custom CNC components, tasks that would be challenging on manually operated lathes. The majority of CNC lathes typically feature two axes, namely X and Y.
Semi-CNC Lathe
The primary distinction between a CNC machine and a Semi-CNC machine lies in their level of automation. CNC machines operate in a fully automated manner, relying on programmed instructions to oversee all aspects of their operation, whereas semi-CNC machines necessitate manual input at specific stages during the machining process.
Quality control plays a pivotal role in the machining of shafts. Consistent inspections are carried out to verify that the shaft dimensions conform to specified standards, guaranteeing that the end product is accurately machined and ready for installation. At Poly Flex, all our shaft couplings are meticulously crafted from start to finish within our top-notch CNC lathe and mill systems to ensure their perfect alignment. These couplings are precision-bored to the exact shaft size using an H7 Morse taper shank reamer, ensuring they match the precise specifications of each customer. Before and after shaft machining, they are meticulously checked for accuracy. The use of a reamer in boring a shaft is employed to attain superior precision in hole diameter.
For all shaft machining and keyway cutting procedures, Poly Flex employs the JFMT Ji-460 Lathe, exclusively dedicated to these tasks. We consistently monitor and inspect this lathe to ensure that all shaft couplings leaving our factory meet the highest quality standards.
Poly Flex incorporates CNC machining into our daily operations for all our internally designed and produced items, encompassing various aspects of our CNC machining procedures.
We take great pride in our ability to design and manufacture a wide spectrum of products, ranging from large production line orders to personalised one-of-a-kind orders and prototypes.
